5 Life Altering Lessons From My Healing Journey
…and a reminder that you’re not a prisoner of anything but your own mind.
This week, I found myself resting in the energy of reflection— sitting quietly with how far I’ve come. There was a pull to gather all my most liberating lessons into one place… not as a performance or persuasion, but as an offering. Something someone might stumble across in their own season of seeking, aching, or awakening.
As I shaped them, I realized something: I’ve heard some version of every one of these lessons before. Back in the early days of my healing. But hearing them back then wasn’t the same as living them now. Back then, they were ideas. Now, they’re blood memory. Now, they’re embodied.
That realization brought two stories to mind.
In Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, Santiago is told:
“When you possess great things within you and try to tell others of them, seldom are you believed.”
And in Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, a prisoner escapes captivity and returns to tell the others that the shadows on the wall aren’t real—but they don’t believe him. They’re too conditioned by what they’ve always known. Their fear and lack of curiosity prove a dangerous combination. So they stay, mistaking illusion for truth.
Both of these stories carry something sobering. At first, they made me hesitate.
“Why share this?” I thought.
“If most people won’t hear it, or won’t believe it… what’s the point?”
But the longer I sat with that thought, the clearer it became:
I don’t share these lessons to convince anyone. I share them because they freed me.
And helping shift even one person’s perspective changes not only my world—but the world. That’s how I do my part. That’s how I stay in right relationship with truth. That’s my frequency of impact.
And I want to be clear—I’m not here to claim I possess some rare treasure within me (even though, yeah… I do).
I’m here to remind you that you do too.
This post isn’t about me being the escaped prisoner or the all-knowing sage.
It’s about you realizing that the only thing keeping you bound is a mind disconnected from Source.
And when your mind opens to that connection… nothing can contain you.
So in that spirit, here are:
🌱 5 Life-Altering Lessons From My Healing Journey
The “wrath of God” was nothing but the fury of the self I tried to bury in the name of survival.
I called it divine punishment, but really it was my own denied voice screaming to be heard.
The peace of God does not surpass all understanding.
I understand it—fully. Even when no one else does. Peace isn’t foreign. It’s familiar.
Even a mirror is a reflection of your perspective.
When I don’t like what I see, I don’t break the glass—I shift the lens.
Hate is simply embittered fear.
And fear, when met with tenderness, becomes insight.
5. Guilt is stagnant energy.
It can’t change the past. It doesn’t shape the future. It’s wasteful. Let it move or let it go.
This isn’t a list to memorize.
It’s a path to remember.
Not because I walked it first—but because you’ve been walking it, too.
Maybe you just forgot for a moment that you’re not here to be saved.
You’re here to remember.
And when you do…
everything begins to bloom.
